Specialization

Are you specialized in a certain niche? We ask this question so we can match you to relevant content and clients.
Please note: specialization is not the same as 'interest in'. In order to be considered for the regular collaboration with our client, we're asking you to have experience in both marketing and software localization.
Specialization is a thorough contextual and in-depth knowledge of a specific field, because a) you worked in said field for years or b) you hold a degree in said field or c) have successfully translated/revised exclusively texts in that field for years.

Fields of interest

We are convinced that we are more efficient when we work on topics that we actually care about.
These are fields that you have a strong interest in and/or aspire to specialize in in the future.

Marketing translators

You're a marketing translator if besides skilled in translation, you are also a really good writer, know how to address a specific audience, and can follow instructions based on style guides.

Editors

Editors at ELL are the quality gatekeepers of our clients' translations. So they have a very big responsibility.
Editors at ELL compare translated texts to their source language making sure 1) the meaning of the source was correctly translated 2) the translation is free of grammatical and spelling errors and 3) the translation reads like an originally written text (not like a translated text).
ELL's editors also check if the translator respected all the specific instructions of the client let it be in terms of editorial guidelines, terminology or other requirements.

AI + human editing (post-editors)

AI post-editing is becoming an increasingly bigger part of our daily activities. We understand not everyone is the biggest fan of it, but we do need experts who enjoy it and are good at it.

TMS & CAT tools

Our default TMSes for our clients are CrowdIn and Phrase. Per definition, most translations will happen there on those platforms.
