Holotropic breath work is an intense workout with a strong emotional release and possibly strong response by the body. Therefore Holotropic breath work is not suitable for you if you have following contraindications:
1) Epilepsy
2) Pregnancy
3) Detached Retina
4) Glaucoma
5) High Blood Pressure that is not controlled with medication
6) Heart disease
7) Cardiovascular Disease (including but not limited to prior heart attack)
8) Use of Prescription Blood Thinners such as Coumadin
9) Hospitalization for any psychiatric condition or emotional crisis within the last 10 years
10) History of Aneurysms in immediate family
11) Strokes, TIAs, seizures or other brain/neurological condition or disease
12) Prior diagnosis by a health professional of bipolar disorder or schizophrenia
13) Osteoporosis whereby intense movement could cause physical issues
Note: Asthma is not a contraindication but there are other breathing exercises that are more suitable for you to begin with. Please message me if this is the case.
