ShenRock Mountain Bike Team is an interscholastic youth mountain bike team in the Shenandoah Valley consisting of boys and girls from local public, private, and home schools. The team participates in friendly and competitive mountain bike events against other surrounding teams.

We are looking for new coaches interested in helping develop youth riders! Thank you for taking an interest.
What is expected:
- Attend 1-2 practices a week: Tuesday and/or Thursday 5:30-7:30p at the Western Slope. It's great if you can make them all, but one afternoon a week works.
- Sufficient experience so you can focus your energy primarily on the youth rider.
- A positive, responsible, empowering approach.
- 18 or older
- Willing to commit to showing up to practice on time or communicate ahead of inability to attend.
- Completion of new/expired coaching certification before your first practice.
What is not required:
- Being an expert mountain bike rider/coach.
- Previous mountain bike coaching experience.
ShenRock Benefits:
COACHING CERTIFICATION: The Coalition covers the cost of coaches to get certified and take all appropriate training before riding with Shen-Rock. The team utilizes the NICA Pit-Zone tracking system and training resources for coach registration and certification across both seasons. There are three levels of coaching (Level 1 - Assistant Coach, Level 2 - Ride Leader,  Level 3 - Head Coach).
Coaches/Adults/Parents who ride with the team during the formal practices must have a minimum Level 1 certification, which covers a background check and baseline risk management awareness (expect 4-6 hours of online training).

DISCOUNTS: Coaches have access to benefits/discounts through NICA.
BEST OF ALL: The opportunity to significantly impact young riders in our community!
