CATS Against Genocide unequivocally opposes genocides everywhere, and actively supports those resisting colonial violence in all the ways we can, from Turtle Island to Palestine. We are taking individual and institutional action to support initiatives sending support and resources to Palestine through financial support, advocacy, and coalition/community building.
Our field has largely been deafeningly silent on Israel's ongoing genocide of Palestinians. Our intention for collecting and posting these responses is to create a space for Creative Art Therapists and Students to share their reflections with the hopes of building up and empowering our collective voice.
✅ Submitted by Creative Arts Therapists and Creative Arts Therapy Students in fields such as Art Therapy, Music Therapy, and Expressive Arts Therapy.
✅ Reflect on the Creative Arts Therapy field, our roles and responsibilities as Creative Arts Therapists, and your experience as an individual working as a Creative Arts Therapist (or learning as a Creative Arts Therapy Student) as it relates to Israel's ongoing genocide of Palestinians.
✅ Artworks and Statements must uphold our group's values of justice and liberation, and we will not post anything supporting/perpetuating zionist views.
