Braver with anxiety - lesson 7
Start by writing down a situation that would make anyone anxious.
*
Examples:
1.
You're late, can't find your phone, and you've checked everywhere in your home.
2. You stand up to give a really important presentation and everyone is looking at you.
3. It's 2 AM, you're home alone, and you start to hear some strange noises outside.
4. You get a text from your bank warning you of potential fraudulent activity.
5. You get an email from your boss that says "Can we talk for a moment?"
Now give a specific example of what triggers your anxiety.
*
Examples:
1. Feel like I can't catch my breath.
2. Riding an elevator.
3. Haven't heard from my mom in a few hours.
4. When someone makes eye contact.
5. When I have to make a small decision.
If you're ready to, pick one person or place (like Reddit) to share this explanation with:
When and where might you have this conversation? It could happen over text.
What type of support would you like to ask for?
I just want to be understood
I need some advice
I need resources
I need someone to help me do something I can't do alone
I want to talk something out with someone else
I just want to do something that gives me a break from my thoughts and feelings
Where should I email this?
