Challenge topics

Embodied AI & Robotics Interfaces

Build intelligent, interactive assistants that operate in voice-first or sensor-driven environments. Explore use cases in robotics, automation, or embedded systems where multi-modal interfaces improve accessibility, control, and decision-making.

Fintech Intelligence

Design next-generation assistants or tools that help financial institutions make smarter decisions. Ideas can include surfacing contextual insights from financial data, enhancing compliance workflows, or simplifying customer support in investment and banking domains.

Retail Experience Assistants
Reimagine how users shop and interact with brands by building intelligent systems that suggest curated products, create personalized shopping experiences, or automate product attribute enrichment to improve discoverability and conversion.
Healthcare AI Companions
Build a solution capable of extracting structured insights from unstructured medical records, such as patient histories or lab notes. Help streamline clinical workflows, risk assessment, and case summaries using GenAI and vibe-coded UIs.
Sustainability & Cleantech Agents
Create agentic assistants that connect to real-time environmental data (e.g., public APIs or internal reports) to provide sustainability analytics, climate impact insights, or energy optimization suggestions. Make them intuitive with rich visual and conversational interfaces.
Open Track

Have a bold idea that doesn’t fit neatly into our themes? Chart your own path by building breakthrough AI applications in any domain.

Evaluation Criteria

All submissions will be evaluated across two phases, and the criteria below apply throughout.
Innovation & Relevance: How original and impactful is the idea within the chosen industry domain? • Problem-Solution Fit: Is the proposed solution meaningful for the problem context and user persona?
Technical Implementation: How well is Generative AI leveraged in the prototype? Does the architecture demonstrate thoughtful design?
User Experience: Is the user interface intuitive, engaging, and purposeful?
AWS Service Usage: How well do these solutions use AWS services?
Solutions must be built using AWS services (e.g., Amazon Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Textract, Amazon Transcribe, Amazon Polly, databases, compute). Amazon Q Developer must be used for this implementation
