Over the last couple of years, I have tried countless personal finance/expense tracking apps. But somehow after using the app for a few days I end up quitting them.
Because it feels like a lot of work to open a different app and fill out a form when I living a moment.
Whereas in some form or another we open messaging apps like WhatsApp/Messenger throughout the day, so I created a WhatsApp group for myself where I just messeses like
3 lunch,
.6 bus,
4 dinner
This felt much frictionless & helped me to lookup later. But I knew this isn't sustainable long term, as more and more data gets added, it will get hard to keep track of.
Now one solution would be if at the end of the day I check the messages and manually log them In a spreadsheet. But I had a better idea!
The idea is to create a bot that will do that for me 😬.
Luckily last month someone also shared the same issue he was facing with expense tracker apps and I shared my idea of a bot. I got surprisingly good feedbacks from there.
So have finally decided to build it for the public! 🙌
