Weddell Sea in search of emperor penguins via helicopters (10-14 days total, 4-8 days in Antarctica) from $11-27,000 USD p/p depending on vessel

Inland-only based expedition (camping, mountaineering, skiing). Note that these inland expeditions are fly-in and rates range from $26,000 to $75,000+ USD

Expedition cruises in East Antarctica, including the sub-Antarctic islands and departing from New Zealand (25+ days total). Note that rates start around $25,000 USD

My budget aligns with the mid-range cost for the available itineraries ($8-12K for Classic itineraries, $10-18K for In Depth/Circle itineraries and $19K+ for South Georgia)

I'm happy to spend over 25K for the right itinerary, dates and ship

June - seabirds breeding, flowers in bloom, wildlife on ice, sea ice and snow may still be present, may see polar bears on ice

July - seabirds with chicks, wildlife on shore, sea ice melting making northern coast accessible, midnight sun, most reliable weather, may see polar bears on ice/shore (peak-season)

August - seabirds departing, sunsets return end of month, sea ice has retreated making circumnavigation possible, may see polar bears on shore

September - shortened days, amazing light for photography, potential for fresh snowfall, may see polar bears on shore, limited wildlife overall
