Environmental Leadership Corps: Fall Term

Ages 14-18 (approx)
Thursdays- 3:30-5:30 PM
September 12, 2024- November 30, 2024
Cowichan Estuary Nature Center, 1845 Cowichan Bay Road, Cowichan Bay BC V0R1N0
$400

Led by researchers, educators, staff and volunteers on site at the Cowichan Estuary Nature Center, this twelve-week leadership development program will allow learners aged 14-18 to explore various STEM career paths right here in the Cowichan Watershed.  Each week, we’ll learn about someone who works in the watershed, and what conservation really looks like in their day to day lives.   We’ll get out in the bay, doing hands-on restoration work on ongoing CENC and partner projects. Additionally, students will learn and practice real-life skills, such as grant-writing, social media marketing, and networking. The Fall term will wrap with a group celebration and networking event.

How would you rate your mobility?

Our group has a huge area at our fingertips, and we love taking folks to places that are less known. Some of these areas are rocky, sandy, muddy, forested or beach trails on uneven grounds. We want to make sure everyone feels included in every outing, so please share your needs here so we can accomodate you in our planning.
