Automation Engineer
Location: Oslo, Norway (Hybrid)
Reporting to: VP of Engineering
At OTee, we’re rethinking industrial automation from the ground up. Our momentum is driven by a clear market need across geographies and a strong support from strategic, international investors. If you've been looking for a place where your work can shape an entire industry (and where you'll feel the energy of real progress every day) this is it. You’ll be joining a lean but growing team that values curiosity, technical excellence, and impact.
As an in-house Automation & Systems Engineer at OTee, you will play a key role in shaping the future of industrial automation. You will be working on the design, development, and deployment of scalable control solutions using OTee’s cloud-native platform and virtual PLC technology. Your work will involve both low-level systems integration and high-level application development, enabling secure, real-time control across a wide range of industries.
You will collaborate closely with the product and engineering teams to build robust automation software that simplifies operations for industrial operators. This position offers the opportunity to make a real impact at the core of our technology, contributing directly to OTee’s mission to redefine how control systems are engineered, deployed, and maintained.
- Draft clear functional and non‑functional specs
- Prototype new logic, system behaviors and integrations
- Feed findings into architecture and cross-functional roadmap discussions
- Work across firmware — edge — cloud to ship end‑to‑end features
Customer Excellence & Control System Development
- Support real-world automation projects by working closely with customers during rollout, integration, and validation of new features
- Translate real‑world lessons into product backlogs
- Contribute to customer support efforts via forums, chat, and ticketing — helping new users navigate the platform and achieve early engineering success.
Physical End-to-End Testing Infrastructure
- Design & automate tests – write system / component test specs, build CI pipelines, and run functional, performance, and stress tests
- Operate shared testbeds – maintain local + cloud-hosted hardware/virtual benches with remote access for engineers
- Benchmark & feedback – track results, surface regressions early, and feed data-driven insights back into the dev roadmap
Enablement of Developer Community
- Publish docs, how‑to articles, demo videos
- Oversee and contribute to community components
At OTee, we're building a world-class team - and that means we're looking for people who don’t just meet the requirements, but exceed them. You should be driven to stay on top of the latest technologies and methodologies, eager to learn rapidly, and capable of producing high-quality results under evolving demands. This role demands speed, precision, and a constant hunger for improvement. If you're excited by the idea of setting new standards in industrial automation, you’ll fit right in.
