"The Future is Peace" Book Study

Mennonite Action Canada invites people from across the country to join an online book study of New York Times' Bestseller The Future Is Peace: A Shared Journey Across the Holy Land by Aziz Abu Sarah and Maoz Inon.

This facilitated series brings together participants to explore the book's vision of peace rooted in dignity, justice, and reconciliation, with a commitment to nonviolent peacebuilding. This book is an opportunity to engage deeply with urgent questions about trauma, humanity, and hope.

Aziz Abu Sarah is a Palestinian peace activist whose brother was tortured to d*ath by the IDF and whose uncle was lyñched by settlers. Maoz Inon is an Israeli peace activist whose parents were m*rdered by Håmas, and many more lifelong friends were m*rdered or taken hostage on October 7th.

Both have chosen to turn their grief and anger into fuel for peace-building so no one else experiences this pain.

We will have weekly online meetings over four Sundays in June - 7, 14, 21, and 28 at 4pm PT / 7pm ET.

We invite people to organize in person gatherings around these meetings if they wish -- a local book club for these four weeks, sharing a time together before or after the national online meeting. Or join us solo online!

Order a copy of The Future is Peace from your favourite indie bookstore, or wherever you listen to books!
