Phase 1 (Content Review) Needed
How much content review do you think you need?
** IMPORTANT NOTE: if you select a content heavy schedule, there is a strong likelihood some, or even most, selected content will not be included.
The official AAMC materials (Section Banks, Question Packs, etc.) have dedicated time at the end of the schedule, Phase 3. The AAMC bundle (requires purchase) mixes all of the content categories together and is completely unaffected by any selections below.
It takes 145 total days (~21 weeks consisting of 109 study days), assuming 7 hours/day availability, 6 days out of the week, and 2 FL review days after each AAMC FL - to see 100% of the content (KA videos + associated practice for every content category) and complete the full AAMC bundle and all 7 AAMC FL's.
* Note: Phase 2 only contains 3rd party practice passages (Jack Westin and UWorld), rotating through every category, and will always attempt to be included no matter which option you select!
However, the more content review you select, and the shorter the timeline, the less passage-based practice can be completed.
(~70% of the science sections on the MCAT are passage-based)
*
Pro Tip: consider taking the
MCAT Content Diagnostic tests on the
Jack Westin website (which are
free to do!) and you can select
content + practice for all topics
65% and below (on average). Everything
above that, can be set to
practice only (s
elect Option B below for this).
You will learn and retain a lot of important material through passages, questions, explanations and reviewing your thought process - which are included throughout the entire schedule.
What's necessary vs. realistic for your situation must be compared, therefore expectations should be set accordingly.
Too much content review is one of the most common mistakes students make. Only select Option A if you genuinely need a full refresher in everything!
If you already know the fundamentals of a category, get to practicing early. If you don't, make sure to select it below.
Content review = articles, videos, and/or textbook chapters
Practice = discrete practice questions + practice passages
Accommodations (if available)
Do you have any AAMC approved accommodations? (optional)
Full-Length Review Preferences
Preferred number of full-length review days (optional)
* Note: defaults to 1 review day if no selection is made
It usually takes about 8 hours to completely review a test, so plan for that accordingly!
For revisions: please click on the revision request link in the Schedule Analytics Summary tab of your study document (screenshotted below).
* Important Note: Your initial study document is only created once and all revisions replace your monthly schedule tabs, but maintain the original study document. Therefore, revisions can only be processed through the revision request link, and it will erase your existing schedule, but not your question review sheets.
Please don't hesitate to book a free 15 minute call if you need help!
We appreciate any constructive feedback to help improve the scheduler - it's a difficult task to generate practical schedules for so many different circumstances but that's still our goal!
