What this is

A Fall cohort for teachers who are done policing AI and ready to start rewarding students for what they actually learned in a new way that is reliable, explainable, and fosters a healthy learning environment instead, including the option to use AI in a way that ensures responsible use you can verify. You didn't get into teaching to play AI Whac-A-Mole. Anchored around custom access to ShowYourLearning (SYL), a new research-backed, privacy-first approach built with educators that empowers students to effortlessly document their existing learning journey, including any AI use, and feel motivated by it, while giving educators peace of mind about the authenticity of learning and output, without needing to rely on AI detectors. This Fellowship is a collaboration between A.J. Ernst (former teacher, high school principal, adjunct professor), and Mario Vasilescu (humane and ethical tech advocate behind Readocracy and their vision for a more informed world). We are passionate about supporting educators, families, and students through an era of technology acceleration, to keep humans and our wellbeing at the center.

What you get

Free access to SYL for a semester and PD including: 1) Introduction to the research behind the new approach, learn a helpful new framework in the process. It helps explain the rationale, rooted in foundational pedagogy and the latest AI-in-education research, while also helping clarify how you generally think of AI solutions in education. Co-authored with leading educators and education impact organizations. 2) Introduction to the ShowYourLearning platform which makes this new approach possible and is a result of the research. Hands-on orientation to onboard and master it, including a chance to reflect on how it aligns with the framework. 3) Optional: custom semester-long support if you'd like to try with your students.

No cost to you. This experience and support is entirely subsidized for Fellows.

Exemplifying the underlying technology. Earned if you complete the background reading that covers some of the background research, and complete the sessions.

Who we're looking for

High school and post-secondary classroom educators who grade research-heavy assignments, especially those resulting in reports, essays, or presentations. No technical background required. Because SYL is the first tool of its kind, this cohort also gets to shape it alongside leading educators and school leaders.

The cohort is selective and capped at 15 members.
