Family Legacy Ground Builder

We know who we are and what we stand for, but we've never written it down or made it official.

Our family has deep roots and a strong identity, but I'm not sure the next generation feels connected to it the way I do.

Honestly, we've been so focused on surviving and rebuilding that we haven't had space to ask who we are yet — but I feel that question pulling at me.

My children see what I'm building and they're curious, but I haven't created any intentional system for bringing them into it.

I've tried to pass on our values and work ethic, but I'm not sure it's landing the way I intended — especially with how differently they learn and see the world.

Honestly, I make most of the decisions. There's no real system — it's just me figuring it out as we go.

We have some informal agreements and family traditions that guide us, but nothing is documented or agreed upon formally.

Decision-making in our family has been a source of conflict or confusion. We need a system — but first we need to heal enough to be in the same room together.

We're earning and building, but our financial strategy is mostly reactive — we don't have a real system for protecting or multiplying what we make.

We have assets, some financial structures in place, maybe insurance or investments — but I'm not confident they're optimized for where the economy is going or what our heirs will need.

Financial instability has been part of our story. We're rebuilding from the ground up.

I want to build something that lasts beyond me, but I haven't taken any concrete steps yet toward protecting it or passing it on.

I've thought about estate planning, trusts, maybe a family mission statement — but I haven't pulled it all together into something that would actually work across generations.

Twenty years from now, I want the patterns that hurt us to be gone. I want my grandchildren to grow up in a family that knows who it is, protects its own, and doesn't repeat what we survived.
