BioinfoPro CV Mapper
This tool is under user testing.
We are offering free reports for the first 50 submissions between Nov 3 and Nov 10, 2026.
The BioinfoPro CV Mapper compares your CV with the Atlas of Bioinformatics Professions, BioinfoPro's map of bioinformatics-related jobs built from about 1,100 real job postings. It reads the experience, skills, tools and programming languages in your CV and finds the profiles most aligned with your experience. You'll get a report showing the top 3 matching job profiles (out of the 34 in the Atlas), with details about:
1. Missing skills: The skills that are common in those jobs but missing from your CV
2. Who's hiring: The full list of employers hiring for matching job postings
3. Where the jobs are: An view of the geographic distribution of job locations
4. Job profile details: The typical compensation range, job types (hybrid, remote, on-site), and other common requirements (languages, education, experience, etc).
Important considerations:
The tool runs on our own systems, and your CV is never sent to outside AI services. This is an early version, so results may be imperfect. The report is a guide, not professional career advice. The results are based on job profiles taken at a single point in time, which may be a few months old. The database of job postings is not exhaustive.
How we use your information
BioinfoPro collects your CV and email address to create your report.
What to send: before uploading, please remove your phone number, home address, photo, date of birth and anything else you'd rather not share. We don't need them.
What we ask in return
The CV Mapper is free while we test it. In return, we ask that you fill out a short feedback form after you get your report. It takes about 5 minutes, and we'll email you the link along with your report. Your answers tell us how to make the tool better.
How we use it: only to create your report and, if you agree below, to test and improve the tool. We won't sell your CV, share it with employers, or use it to inform hiring decisions. We'll also use your email to send your report and a link to the feedback form.
Who sees it: only the BioinfoPro team. Your file is stored in BioinfoPro's Google Drive, whose servers may be outside Canada. Your information may be subject to the laws of the country where it's stored.
How long we keep it: we delete your CV within 60 days of sending your report, unless you tick the second box below.
Your choices: you can withdraw your consent, see or correct your information, or ask us to delete it at any time by emailing info@bioinfopro.org.
Questions or concerns: contact Larisa Soto at info@bioinfopro.org. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Upload a single file, no larger than 10 MB.
We use a PDF to text conversion tool, here are some tips to make sure we capture all the information:
Upload a PDF, Word (.docx), plain-text or markdown file. If your CV is in Word or Google Docs, save or download it as a PDF. If you're unsure, you can use a free AI Chatbot to export your CV into a plain-text or markdown file so you can review the extraction yourself.
Don't upload a scan or photo of your CV. The tool can only read text you can select and copy. If you can't highlight words in your PDF, it's a scanned image.
Keep the layout simple. A single column with clear headings like "Experience", "Skills" and "Education" works best. Text inside tables, text boxes, graphics or skill bars may be missed.
Write in English. The tool compares your CV with English-language job postings.
Spell out tools and skills. List the software, programming languages and methods you've used by name, and describe what you did with them.
Remove personal details such as your phone number, address, photo and date of birth.
