Application for Postpartum Care

Why families invest in postpartum care

Families often spend thousands preparing for the baby — postpartum care is an investment in the mother’s recovery, wellbeing, and transition into motherhood.

What does postpartum care cost?

Postpartum care is personalised to each family, so pricing varies depending on the care provider, location, and amount of support needed. Most families spend between R8 000 and R16 000 on postpartum support during the first few weeks after birth.

How Ubuntu Mama supports families

Ubuntu Mama retains a 15% service fee to support the running of the platform, including matching families with care providers, administration, and ongoing support. As a non-profit organisation, any additional funds are reinvested into expanding access to postpartum care for mothers who may not otherwise be able to afford it.

Where discount vouchers are applied, the discount is absorbed by Ubuntu Mama’s service fee and does not reduce the care provider’s earnings.
