Synscribe Account Manager Application

Thanks for your interest in the Account Manager role at Synscribe.
This is not a standard application. We believe in showing, not just telling. The following challenges are designed to give us a real sense of how you think, communicate, and solve problems—the core skills for this role.
It should take about 30-60 minutes. We're excited to see your approach. Let's begin
A Quick Note from the Founder Before You Begin
Thanks for your interest in Synscribe. Before you dive in, I want to be upfront: this application is different. It's more comprehensive than most, and that's by design.
We've found that the traditional resume-and-interview process is a poor predictor of success in a role like this. So, we replaced it with a short, practical challenge that lets you show us how you think.
It’s likely going to be out of your depth, but that’s the point. It’s how we test for your ability to learn on the fly.
The good news is that this approach respects your time. Because this assignment allows us to see your skills in action, we can shorten our entire interview process to just one or two final calls. No endless rounds, no guessing games. We trade a bit more effort upfront for a much faster, more definitive result for everyone.
This is a direct reflection of how we work: we don't do things just because everyone else does. We do what's most effective.
The truth is, an application like this is a filter. Most people will see the effort required and close this tab. Many of those who do start will submit low-effort "AI slop." Just by committing to a thoughtful submission, you are already placing yourself in a very small and select group.
A quick note on using AI: You absolutely should use it. We do, every single day. But there's a critical difference between using AI as a tool to enhance your thinking and letting it do the thinking for you. We have worked with AI long enough to know how to spot the difference instantly. This entire application is a test of your learning trajectory. In the span of this one form, we can see how you learn, how you adapt, and whether your aptitude fits our culture of deep, effective work.
Finally, because this process asks a tremendous amount from you, here is our promise in return:
We never use AI to screen these applications. I, the founder, personally review every single completed submission. This takes a significant amount of my time away from other critical work, which is precisely why this application needs to be so effective. It allows me to see your potential quickly and ensures that if we move forward, it's because your skills are a genuine match.
If this sounds like a challenge you're excited about, we can't wait to see your thinking in action. Take this seriously, and we promise to do the same.

The AI Gauntlet aka Testing Your AI Skills & Learning Speed (20 min)

A core part of this role involves using and directing our AI workflows to get great results for clients.
One common task is earning our clients valuable mentions in existing online articles (e.g., listicles, buying guides). This requires creating natural-sounding "blurbs" or edits to insert a link.

Your Task: Create a single, prompt for a generative AI (ie. GPT-5-mini, Claude 3.7 Sonnet, Gemini Pro 2.5, etc) that can handle this task for any client.
Your Prompt's Goal:
Your prompt should act as a "machine operator's manual" for the AI. It needs to be a reusable template that takes in specific information about a client and a target article, and outputs strategic, ready-to-use link insertion suggestions.
Your prompt should be designed to accept the following INPUTS:
- Company Info: A brief description of the client you're working for.
- Target Page URL: The URL of the article you want to get a link from.
- Target Page Content: The full text content of that article.
- Linked Page URL: The specific URL on your client's site that the link should point to.
- Anchor Text (Optional): A preferred keyword or phrase for the link.
Your prompt should instruct the AI to produce the following OUTPUTS (feel free to modify or improve this structure):
- Suggestion 1: Simple Link Placement. A minimal edit to the existing text to naturally weave in the link.
- Suggestion 2: Comprehensive Edit. A more substantial edit, like adding a new, value-adding sentence or paragraph that contains the link.
- Observability Data: Any other useful data, like the reasoning behind its choices.
How to Succeed: A Few Hints to Guide You
1. Study What 'Good' Looks Like. To give you a clear target, here are examples of the kind of output we consider high-quality: - Sample of a Comprehensive Edit: This Notion link shows how a new, value-adding section can be seamlessly integrated into an existing article. - Sample of a Concise Edit: This shows how a minimal change can effectively insert a link.

Original Blog Post URL: https://url-decode.com/blogs/lead-generation-techniques-for-professionals Specific URL for Link Insertion: https://www.trykondo.com/solution/sales-navigator-tool Anchor Text Chosen: Sales Navigator Tool
Original Sentence: "...targeting options to connect with particular audiences that fit the profile of your ideal client. Alright, and LinkedIn can significantly enhance your outreach endeavours." Proposed Modified Sentence: "...targeting options to connect with particular audiences that fit the profile of your ideal client, and a robust Sales Navigator Tool for LinkedIn can significantly enhance your outreach endeavours."

2. Do Your Homework. You don't need to be an expert, but we expect you to be resourceful. We highly recommend reading up on what makes an effective prompt. Search for the official "Prompt Engineering Guides" from sources like OpenAI and Anthropic (Claude) to learn the fundamentals.
3. Test, Refine, Repeat. The first version of your prompt probably won't be the best. Find a real blog post and a relevant company, run your prompt, and analyze the output. Rework and refine your prompt based on the results. Try it with different inputs (e.g., a short article vs. a long one, a listicle vs. a narrative post) to make it more robust.
4. Know Its Limits. A great prompt engineer understands where their prompt excels and where it fails. As you test, form your own opinion on its strengths and weaknesses. Identifying the failure points of a prompt is just as important as identifying its successes.
