1. The exhibition
Call It By Its Name is a group mixed-media exhibition on perpetrator accountability in
domestic violence, held at Culterim Backshop, Brunnenstraße 105–109, 13355 Berlin, 14–28
February 2027.
2. Who can apply
Artists aged 18 and over. Individuals and collectives. All career stages.
3. Submissions
• Apply only through the form: https://tally.so/r/kdQk6J
• Up to 3 works per artist or collective
• New or existing work that relates to the theme
• For each piece: title, year, medium, dimensions or duration, plus images or video/
audio links
• Include a short statement and a short bio/CV
• Incomplete or late submissions are not reviewed
4. Entry fee
There is no entry fee.
5. Deadline
6 September 2026, 23:59 CET.
6. Selection & notification
Works are selected by the curatorial team. All applicants are notified by early October
2026. The team may select some or all of an artist's submitted works. Selected work must
match what was submitted; substantially different work may be declined on delivery.
7. Delivery, return and costs
Delivery to and collection from Berlin is arranged with selected artists after notification.
Work must be available for the full exhibition period.
8. Rights
Artists retain full copyright of their work. By submitting, artists grant the organizers
permission to reproduce images of selected works for promotion, documentation, and the
exhibition catalogue, with credit.
9. Accessibility & support
Artists facing financial hardship may request production and transportation support.
Support is provided based on individual needs and available resources. The organizers
also cover the cost of insurance for all selected works for the duration of the exhibition.
10. Agreement
By submitting, applicants confirm the work is their own and agree to these rules.
