What do we mean by print?
This year's swap is open to artists working in any 2D medium, anywhere in the world. We use the term "print" loosely. This can be an original work or a reproduction, but must be on a 2D surface (paper, metal, fabric, wood, etc) and by you. Essentially anything that the recipient can hang on the wall to display. Be creative! This could be anything from photography to a textile piece. We do not accept AI work at this time.
So how does the swap work?
Give a print, get a print. Person A sends to Person B sends to Person C and so on. The only cost to participate is the cost of postage. You dictate what areas of the world you're willing to ship to, whether domestic or international. After everyone has received their print, we'll share a digital catalog of all the work swapped and corresponding artist names, websites, and social handles. This year's swap also has an *optional* exhibition and publication element. More on that below.
Print Parameters
• Made by you. Work made with AI is not permitted.
•
Image size between 5x5in (12.7x12.7cm) and 14x14in (35.5x35.5cm).
• Excellent print quality. This should
not be a work print. Please swap something of a quality and condition you would be confident exhibiting.
• The swap print
must be signed. We recommend signing on the back, but it's up to you.
Local Partners
This year we're partnering with
Paper Tides for all your printing needs. Please visit the hyper link for her print swap specific pricing and paper options. Because we require the swap print to be signed, Paper Tides
can not ship directly to your recipient. The good news? You can reuse the shipping materials from Paper Tides to package and ship to your recipient.

Optional exhibition opportunity
This year we are adding an optional exhibition participation. If you would like your piece included in an
all-accepted print swap exhibition, here, in Maine, you can note that in your form submission. If your swap piece is replicable (digital print, screen print, photography, etc), your exhibition piece should be the same image/work as your swap piece. If your swap piece is an original work, you can still participate in the exhibition with a similar piece of your choosing. Either way, the exhibition piece should follow the same size parameters as the swap. You
must participate in the swap to be eligible for the exhibition. Work does not have to be framed. The exhibition location will depend on the number of submissions and required wall space. The exhibition will run 3-4 weeks with an opening night event. If you opt into the exhibit, we'll send you an email in early April 2026 with full details for a mid-summer show.
International / non-local participation
If you would like to participate in the exhibition, but are worried about international shipping costs, you can have your piece printed here in Maine by our partner,
Paper Tides. Exhibition prints ordered through them will be directly handed off to us so no shipping costs are involved. We'll send you more info on ordering from Paper Tides in our April exhibition email.
Optional publication opportunity
This year we are also adding an option to have your swap piece considered for a small
juried publication. This will be released later in 2026 and will be available for purchase to all swap participants as well as the public. You
must participate in the swap to be eligible for the publication. Notifications for accepted pieces will be sent out in early April.
