New Jersey Firearms Permit Delay Investigation

Information collected through this form will be forwarded to contacts within the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division for review.
The U.S. Department of Justice, under the leadership of Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. Dhillon, has taken an active role in protecting Americans' Second Amendment rights through its Civil Rights Division and dedicated Second Amendment Section.
The Department recently opened an investigation into allegations of excessive firearm permitting delays in Pennsauken Township, New Jersey, and has launched similar investigations in other jurisdictions.
We are now gathering information from firearm permit applicants throughout New Jersey to identify additional municipalities where residents may have experienced unreasonable delays, unnecessary administrative obstacles, or other potential violations of their Second Amendment rights.
If you have experienced excessive delays in obtaining a firearms identification card, handgun purchase permit, or permit to carry a handgun, we encourage you to share your experience.
Please provide as much accurate information as possible. If you do not remember exact dates, reasonable estimates are acceptable.
