Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Employment Type: Full-time, fully remote

Reports to:

On-site requirement: Required for Lagos-based Eventhive events where content capture, live coverage or event marketing support is needed

About Eventhive

Eventhive is a B2B event servicing company that develops and delivers conferences, exhibitions, forums and business networking platforms across major sectors including technology, finance, energy, oil & gas, transport, real estate, telecoms, aviation and international trade.

Through its growing portfolio of events across Lagos, London, Nairobi, Kigali, and Johannesburg, Eventhive connects businesses, policymakers, investors, executives and other industry stakeholders to create opportunities for knowledge-sharing, partnerships and business growth.

About the Role

We are looking for a Content Strategist/Marketer to lead the content and audience-growth engine across Eventhive's growing portfolio of events. This is a hands-on role for a strong writer, marketer and communicator who understands how content can move an audience from awareness to interest to registration.

You will own content across Eventhive's website, email campaigns, newsletters and social channels, while also creating video content to promote events, speakers, industry conversations and Eventhive's brand.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working across formats. You should be able to write a strong event landing page in the morning, build a newsletter in the afternoon and appear on camera to record a short promotional video when needed. This is a fully remote role, with on-site attendance required for relevant Lagos-based events.

Key Responsibilities

Content Strategy & Planning

- Develop and execute content strategies for Eventhive's events and event brands.

- Build editorial and marketing calendars around upcoming events, industry trends, speakers, sponsors and key event themes.

- Develop content pillars and messaging frameworks for different events and target audiences.

- Identify opportunities to turn event themes, speakers and industry developments into content that attracts and engages prospective attendees.

- Develop campaigns that move audiences from awareness to event registration.

Website & Event Content

- Write, edit and maintain website content for Eventhive and its individual event brands.

- Develop compelling event landing-page copy, event descriptions, speaker profiles, agenda copy and calls to action.

- Keep event websites updated with speakers, sponsors, agenda changes, registration information and other relevant content.

- Improve website copy and content structure to increase engagement and registrations.

- Work with designers, developers and other team members to ensure event websites are accurate, compelling and conversion-focused.

Email & Newsletter

- Own Eventhive's email marketing and newsletter strategy.

- Develop and manage email campaigns promoting events, speakers, ticket sales, sponsorship opportunities and other relevant updates.

- Write compelling subject lines, email copy and calls to action.

- Develop newsletters that provide useful industry content while driving awareness and registrations for Eventhive events.

- Segment audiences where appropriate and tailor messaging to different audience groups.

- Monitor email performance, including open rates, click-through rates and conversions, and continuously optimise campaigns.

Social Media & Digital Content

- Develop content for Eventhive's LinkedIn and other relevant social channels.

- Create event countdowns, speaker announcements, industry insights, promotional campaigns, event highlights and post-event content.

- Adapt content for different platforms rather than simply reposting the same material everywhere.

- Monitor audience engagement and identify topics, formats and messaging that resonate with Eventhive's target audiences.

- Work with the design team to brief and develop visual content.

Video & On-Camera Content

- Create short-form video content to promote Eventhive's events and brands.

- Appear on camera to deliver event explainers, promotional videos, speaker introductions, industry commentary, event previews and other marketing content.

- Develop simple video concepts, scripts and talking points suitable for social media and digital campaigns.

- Conduct short interviews with speakers, sponsors and industry leaders at Eventhive events.

- Capture and repurpose event-day content for social media and post-event campaigns.

- Work with videographers and designers where professional production support is available.

- Stay comfortable and natural on camera and represent Eventhive professionally.

Event Marketing

- Develop integrated content campaigns for Eventhive's conferences, exhibitions and forums.

- Create audience-specific messaging for executives, founders, investors, policymakers, professionals and other relevant groups.

- Support ticket-sales campaigns with content across email, website, social and video.

- Develop speaker-led campaigns that leverage the profiles and networks of Eventhive speakers.

- Develop content that supports sponsor visibility and event partnerships.

- Work closely with the sales and events teams to ensure marketing activity supports commercial and attendance goals.

Analytics & Optimization

- Track performance across website, email, newsletter, social and video channels.

- Monitor metrics including website traffic, email opens, click-through rates, engagement, video views and event registrations.

- Test headlines, formats, messaging and calls to action.

- Use performance data to improve future campaigns.

- Produce regular content and campaign performance reports.

- Develop post-event recaps, highlights, newsletters and social content.

- Turn key discussions and insights from Eventhive events into evergreen content.

- Identify content from events that can continue generating engagement and leads after the event has ended.
