About M
At M - we’re early, ambitious, and moving fast. We’re building a new category in how urban households function. We help households run smoothly through trained professionals, operational excellence, and technology-driven support systems. Backed by Peak XV Partners, Blume Ventures and CRED we’re reimagining how homes run, so people never have to think about chores again.
The Role
The screen is where M stops feeling like magic and starts being real - and you'll own it.
Two surfaces run on the web: the app households touch, and the operator console our team runs real households from, live. Both are real-time, both stream AI as it thinks, and both have to feel instant on the first try.
What you'll do
- Build M's web app and the operator console that runs households in real time.
- Make streaming feel instant - AI replies that arrive as they're generated, live updates, optimistic UI that never lies.
- Tame genuinely hard client state so a dense, live interface stays fast and predictable.
- Own a component system that's accessible and consistent by default.
- Ship launch-critical flows with Backend, Mobile, and Design.
- Sweat perf, accessibility, and the guardrails that keep one bad payload from blanking the screen.
What We're Looking For
- 3-6 years building production web apps in React.
- Real-time UX experience: streaming, live data, optimistic updates.
- Strong layout and accessibility instincts - you sweat the 8px and the focus ring.
- TypeScript fluency; you model state so illegal states can't render.
- You know why fetching in an effect is usually a smell.
Bonus Qualifications
- Built a dense, live, data-heavy ops or internal console.
- Streamed AI/agent output into a UI.
- Design-system authorship; fluent Figma-to-code.
- Performance profiling and a ruthless bundle diet.
30 / 60 / 90-Day Expectations
- 30 days: multiple user-facing changes and a few features shipped.
- 60 days: you've led a launch-critical feature end-to-end.
- 90 days: you own a domain, set the conventions the next FE hires inherit.
