ROSA x Lumpen 2026 Pitch Form

ROSA Chicago is a free, multi-year program (and coffee hour) that meets regularly to study the history of revolutionary movements and political theory through reading and collective discussion. ROSA aims to reimagine pedagogy beyond the model of traditional academic institutions and to provide space for aspiring revolutionaries across multiple tendencies to gather together in study.

Lumpen Magazine is a free multi-decade long publication based in Chicago that blurs the lines between the amateur, the academic, the anarchist, the artist and the worker.

In partnership with Lumpen, ROSA Chicago invites writers, artists, and community organizers to pitch submissions reflecting on but not limited to…

- Learning from past revolutions

- Current struggles against the regime

- What survival and resistance look like right now

- Visions of fairer, more sustainable worlds, and concrete thinking about how we might actually get there

Through….

- Personal pieces, stories, anecdotes or parables

- Short or long form analytical or reflective essays

- Poetry, songs, short stories, or other forms

- Visual works of art in whatever medium

We are also seeking posters for inclusion in the center of the issue. These can be informative, history-inspired, propagandizing, designed to be wheat-pasted, taped in windows, or hung on walls.

Pitch your piece to us! For all written pieces, the pitch must be a minimum of 300 words. Excerpts of writing are encouraged.
