1. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK
I acknowledge that my participation in the 2026 Only Football 2nd Annual Tournament, including flag football games, warm-ups, practices, competitions, activities and my presence within the event area (collectively, the “Event”), involves inherent risks.
These risks may include, but are not limited to, collisions or contact with other participants, falls, equipment-related injuries, field or surface conditions, weather conditions, physical exertion, and other risks normally associated with competitive athletic activities.
I understand that injuries may occur even when reasonable safety precautions are taken.
I voluntarily choose to participate in the Event and knowingly accept and assume the risks associated with my participation.

2. FITNESS TO PARTICIPATE
I confirm that I am physically capable of participating in the Event and that I am responsible for determining whether I am medically and physically fit to participate.
I agree that I will not participate while impaired by alcohol, cannabis, illegal drugs, or any substance that could reasonably affect my ability to participate safely.
I understand that BCAFFL, its officials and event personnel may remove or prohibit a participant from competing when they reasonably believe continued participation may create a safety risk to that participant or others.

3. RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY
In consideration for being permitted to participate in the Event, I hereby waive, release and discharge, to the fullest extent permitted by law: BC Adult Flag Football League (BCAFFL), its directors, officers, employees, contractors, volunteers, officials, referees, coaches, representatives, sponsors, partners, affiliated organizations, facility owners/operators, event organizers and their respective agents and representatives (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from claims, demands, actions, damages, losses, expenses or liabilities arising from or connected with my participation in or attendance at the Event, including claims arising from ordinary negligence of a Released Party, except to the extent such liability cannot legally be waived.
This release includes claims relating to personal injury, illness, property damage or other loss arising from my participation in the Event.

4. INDEMNIFICATION
I agree, to the extent permitted by law, to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from claims, damages, costs or expenses, including reasonable legal expenses, resulting from my own negligent, reckless or intentional conduct during the Event or my violation of Event rules.

5. EVENT RULES AND CONDUCT
I agree to comply with all Event rules, Event regulations, facility requirements and directions given by BCAFFL and Event officials, referees, staff or authorized representatives.
I understand that unsportsmanlike conduct, fighting, threatening behaviour, harassment, abuse of officials, intentional dangerous play or other conduct deemed detrimental to participant safety, or the Event may result in immediate removal from the Event and may be subject to additional BCAFFL disciplinary action.

6. MEDICAL TREATMENT
If I become injured or ill during the Event and I am unable to provide instructions, I authorize Event & BCAFFL personnel or their representatives to contact emergency medical services and to provide reasonable assistance until qualified medical personnel arrive.
I understand that Event organizers or BCAFFL does not guarantee the availability of any particular medical treatment or medical personnel.
I am responsible for medical, ambulance or other expenses incurred on my behalf except where otherwise required by law or applicable insurance coverage.

7. PERSONAL PROPERTY
I understand that Event organizers and BCAFFL is not responsible for the loss, theft or damage of personal belongings brought to the Event, except where responsibility cannot legally be excluded.

8. PHOTOGRAPHY, VIDEO AND MEDIA
I understand that photographs, video recordings and other media may be captured during the Event.
I grant BCAFFL permission to use images or recordings in which I appear for legitimate league and Event purposes, including BCAFFL websites, social media, promotional materials, broadcasts, recaps and future Event promotion, without additional compensation.
Where required by applicable law, separate consent will be obtained.

9. PARTICIPANT RESPONSIBILITY
I understand that flag football is a competitive sport and agree to conduct myself in a manner that does not intentionally or recklessly endanger another participant.
I am responsible for ensuring that any equipment I personally provide is appropriate and in safe working condition.

10. SEVERABILITY
If any provision of this Agreement is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be severed or limited to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

11. GOVERNING LAW
This Agreement shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the applicable laws of Canada.

12. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND AGREEMENT
I CONFIRM THAT I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THIS WAIVER, RELEASE OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT.
I understand that by accepting this Agreement, I am giving up certain legal rights, including the right to bring certain claims against the Released Parties.
I confirm that I am entering into this Agreement voluntarily and have had the opportunity to seek independent legal advice before accepting it.

ELECTRONIC ACCEPTANCE
Where this Agreement is completed electronically, selecting “I Agree,” “I Accept,” or an equivalent electronic acknowledgement constitutes the participant's electronic acceptance of this Agreement.
The participant confirms that they have been provided an opportunity to review the entire Agreement before accepting it.
