The Social Media Intern supports Posterity International’s digital communications across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and emerging channels. Working alongside the research, marketing, and design teams, the intern will help transform global issues and organizational initiatives into timely, engaging, and accessible digital content.
Support development and maintenance of the social media content calendar
Draft captions, carousel concepts, stories, short-form content, and platform-specific copy
Monitor trends, conversations, and platform developments
Pitch timely content ideas related to Posterity International’s focus areas
Support digital launches for campaigns, initiatives, fundraising efforts, and events
Assist with community engagement and audience development
Monitor basic performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement
Collaborate with Research Assistants and Graphic Design Interns to ensure content is accurate and visually effective
Strong familiarity with major social platformsInterest in digital communications, advocacy, storytelling, or international affairs
Strong writing and communication skills
Familiarity with Canva, CapCut, or similar tools is helpfulBasic understanding of social media analytics is welcomed
Someone who follows digital culture without sacrificing accuracy or sensitivity for virality. The ideal candidate is creative, proactive, dependable, attentive to current events, and able to turn complex issues into content people want to read, share, and act on.
Portfolio-ready digital communications work
Experience communicating humanitarian and international issues to public audiences
Exposure to nonprofit digital strategy and advocacy campaigns
Experience collaborating with research, marketing, and design teams
This is an unpaid, volunteer-based internship. However, students may be eligible to receive academic or course credit through their university, subject to their institution’s approval and requirements.
Posterity International is happy to support any necessary documentation or verification processes to facilitate academic credit where applicable.
