Die index freiraum RESIDENCY bietet Künstler:innen und Kurator:innen aus aller Welt einen zweimonatigen Wohnaufenthalt in einem Wohnatelier in Zürich.
Das möblierte, eigenständige Zimmer befindet sich im 2. Stock (kein Lift) eines Gewerbehauses an der Rautistrasse in Zürich Albisrieden (gegenüber des Koch-Areals). In der Wohnung, die mehrere Atelierplätze diverser Künstler:innen umfasst, befindet sich eine Gemeinschaftsküche sowie ein gemeinsam benutztes Bad mit Dusche und WC. Die Unterkunft ist der ideale Ort für Recherche und Entwicklung von Projekten ohne grossen Platzanspruch.
Im lebendigen Quartier befinden sich in unmittelbarer Nähe Einkaufs- und Erholungsmöglichkeiten. Das Wohnatelier ist verkehrstechnisch bestens mit Tram und Bus an die Innenstadt angebunden.

Voraussetzungen

Die index freiraum RESIDENCY richtet sich an internationale Künstler:innen aller Disziplinen sowie an Kurator:innen mit Wohn- und Arbeitsschwerpunkt außerhalb der (deutschsprachigen) Schweiz.

Hinweise
Die Bewerbungen werden nach ihrer künstlerischen Qualität beurteilt und von der Jury, bestehend aus dem index-freiraum-Team, abschliessend beurteilt. Bei einer allfälligen Auswahl kommt ein Aufenthalt erst nach der Unterschrift einer Aufenthaltsvereinbarung zustande.
Reisekosten sind von den Bewerber:innen selbst zu decken. index freiraum kann mit Bestätigungen und Anträgen für Gelder und/oder Visa behilflich sein.
Die index freiraum RESIDENCY ist für Personen mit eingeschränkter Mobilität nicht geeignet.
Parallel zur index freiraum RESIDENCY bieten wir mit index freiraum COLLAB eine kollaborative Residency an. Dieses Angebot richtet sich an Tandem-Bewerbungen in Zusammenarbeit mi lokalen Künstler:innen.
ENGLISH

The index freiraum RESIDENCY offers artists and curators from around the world a two-month stay in a live-in studio in Zurich.

The furnished, self-contained room is located on the 2nd floor (no elevator) of a commercial building on Rautistrasse in Zurich Albisrieden (opposite the Koch Areal). The apartment, which comprises several studio spaces occupied by various artists, has a shared kitchen and a shared bathroom with shower and toilet. The accommodation is the ideal place for research and development of projects that do not require a lot of space.

This lively neighbourhood offers shopping and leisure facilities in the immediate vicinity. The studio apartment is well connected to the city centre by tram and bus.

Requirements

The index freiraum RESIDENCY is aimed at international artists from all disciplines as well as curators whose primary place of residence and practice is outside (German speaking) Switzerland.

Notes

Applications will be assessed on their artistic merit and evaluated by a jury consisting of the index freiraum team. If selected, a stay will only be confirmed once a residence agreement has been signed.

Travel expenses are to be covered by the applicants themselves. index freiraum can assist with confirmations and applications for funds and/or visas.

The index freiraum RESIDENCY is not suitable for persons with limited mobility.

In parallel to the index freiraum RESIDENCY, we offer another residency called index freiraum COLLAB. This offer is aimed at tandem applications in collaboration with local artists.
