Our Mission:
Whenever possible to promote and feature tabletop roleplaying games created by individuals or by independent presses.
Across the channel people of color will represent at least 50% of the total cast members.

Game Synopsis

“To whom it may concern,
My name is William Stuckely and what I’m about to share with you could put us both in grave danger.

The Apollonian Society was built on a lie.

They have been keeping life saving information from the general public on how to live alongside Vaesen- creatures of myth and folklore that live in secret among us. They will stop at nothing to silence those that know the truth as it’s the only way they can hold on to power. If you can see the unseen, you’re next. I’ve included directions to a safe house located near the great Hawthorne tree. Leave without a trace and remember; They are always watching.”

Vaesen: The Morrigan Society is an actual play set in late 19th century Ireland in a world not unlike our own. Magic exists, the creatures in folklore are real, and danger lurks around every corner. Players take on the role of Thursday’s Children, people gifted with the ability to see the hidden world that mediates misunderstandings between humans and Vaesen. While the older generations of the Emerald Isle remember the old ways, the oppressive laws enacted by England and the Apollonian Society have created dangerous circumstances between humans and Vaesen. Help revive what remains of the Morrigan Society, an ancient order devoted to the protection of Vaesen, and light the sparks of rebellion.

About the Storyteller

Hi I’m Mary (she/her), your resident Nerd on Wheels and GM of this Vaesen adventure. A little bit about me, I’m a disabled woman and lover of storytelling, often using my lived experiences to shape the world and characters I create. I first got into TTRPGs about 10 years ago as a way to explore my theater background in a less physically demanding setting. Since then I’ve had about 8 years of GMing experience across various systems and got into the actual play scene 6 years ago. Before getting into my GMing style, I’d like to note that Safety is a number one concern of mine at any table, but especially when it comes to horror. We will be using a variety of safety tools both in and out of game as well as post game debriefs/aftercare.

My GMing style has a heavy focus on roleplay, character based plot points, and political intrigue. One of my favorite parts of GMing is working with players to shape the world, plot, and lore into a story everyone has had a hand in creating. I absolutely love all things to do with backstory! You can bet on having an “Oh no!” moment pulled from your character’s history when you least expect it. The majority of situations your characters may run into can be solved in a variety of ways, creative solutions always encouraged. One thing to note about Vaesen is that combat is rare. Most of the things characters run into should be run away from first and fought only in the most dire of circumstances. Expect to solve mysteries through investigation, social encounters, and creative problem solving! I’m excited to see you at the table.

• Arrive at call time 30 minutes prior to live stream for tech & connection building
• If the ST must miss a session giving at least a week's notice to players and channel so that other programming can be arranged. (Obviously emergencies happen, and your mental health and safety are primary concerns to us!)
• Checking in with players throughout the week for the length campaign to ensure that everyone is doing well and to nurture a safe relationship anchor for uncomfortable conversations.
• Bringing concerns to the table without throwing players under the bus or pitting players against each other.

* Whenever possible, ST are NOT responsible to produce or moderate their own stream- allowing them to focus on the game and players

Cast Members are responsible for:

• Table safety (including providing updated consent & safety forms whenever something changes)
• Arriving prepared to call time 30 minutes prior to live stream for tech & connection building
• Having honest conversations with the ST and other players about things that are going well, and when things aren't.

Health & Safety

NWD values the health and safety of our community above all else. If for any reason you ever have concerns about a show, cast, player, DM, community member, or chancellor, please reach out to NWD staff. You will never be retaliated against, and we want to help you bring your best to your story with your strongest mental and physical health to every game.
Speaking with a chancellor implies a certain amount of confidentiality. We will not share/disclose personal health or family situations to the cast or DM of your show. Where possible we will also keep your identity private as well.

Leaving the game

If for any reason you decide that a stream is no longer telling the story you want to tell, it's okay to leave that game. We ask that you connect with a Chancellor first so that we can work with you, the cast, and the graphics/production departments to make the necessary changes.
Leaving a game never results in retaliation or loss of future opportunities with NWD.

Profit sharing

We at Nerds with Dice are currently reviewing our Profit Sharing model. You'll be notified about how the changes affect any show you're cast in.

Casting, Diversity, and Accommodation

In regards to our above policy that people of color will represent at least 50% of total cast members. We recommend that whenever possible STs make an effort to cast two or more people of color. NWD believes that no marginalized person should be excluded from a game due to bigotry. As such we ask that STs make their table a safe place for women, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and more.

There is no obligation to cast any Chancellor or member of NWD staff. No retaliation for not casting a Chancellor or staff member.
