HOW TO FIGURE SQUARE INCHES:
Measure the Height (length) and Width in inches of the area you want tattooed, then multiply them:
Height (in.) × Width (in.) = Total Square Inches
• Rectangular area: 4" tall × 6" wide = 24 sq. in.
• Circle / Mandala: A 5" circle fits in a 5" × 5" square = 25 sq. in.
• Wrap-around / Blackout sleeve: Measure around your arm/leg with a tape measure (or string) for width, then multiply by length.
QUICK SIZE REFERENCE:
• Quarter / Stamp (1" × 1") = 1 sq. in.
• Post-it Note / Playing Card = ~9 sq. in.
• Center of Palm (3.5" × 3.5" to 4" × 4") = 12–16 sq. in.
• US Dollar Bill (2.6" × 6.1") = ~16 sq. in.
• Smartphone (3" × 6") = ~18 sq. in.
• Index Card / Postcard (4" × 6") = 24 sq. in.
• Half Sheet of Paper (5.5" × 8.5") = ~47 sq. in.
• Full Sheet of Paper (8.5" × 11") = ~94 sq. in.
• Full Arm Sleeve (shoulder to wrist, all around) = ~200–300+ sq. in.
