Periods, Cycles and Confidence in the Outdoors

Outdoor education asks a lot of us: long days, remote locations, unpredictable weather and the occasional questionable toilet situation.
For women working in the field, managing a menstrual cycle can add another layer to an already demanding environment. Yet much of the practical knowledge that makes this easier is passed along informally: through a helpful colleague, an experienced mentor, a quiet conversation or lessons learnt the hard way.
This survey explores how women in outdoor education learn to manage their cycles in the field, where they find support, and what knowledge experienced educators can share with the next generation.
It also considers how male colleagues and leaders can contribute to a supportive environment, and how confident educators are in supporting girls and young women participating in outdoor programs.
Your responses will help shape a practical, positive and empowering conference session grounded in real experiences and shared wisdom.
The survey takes approximately 8-10 minutes. All personal questions are optional, and you are welcome to skip anything you would prefer not to answer. Please do not include the names of individuals or organisations in your responses.
