About the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA

The Hamilton/Burlington SPCA (HBSPCA) is a registered not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to protecting and promoting the well-being of animals and fostering the human-animal bond. For almost 140 years, we have been a trusted voice for animals in need - rescuing, caring for, and rehoming thousands each year, while providing education and advocacy to build a more compassionate community.
Today, the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA stands at an inspiring turning point. Through our “Unleash Love” campaign, we are fundraising to build a new state-of-the-art animal care and community facility - a space designed to improve the quality of life for animals, enhance access to services, and strengthen the connection between pets and people across our region.
This is a transformational moment - one that calls for visionary leadership, strategic acumen, strong governance, and a deep commitment to our shared belief that all pets deserve to be happy, safe, and wanted.

The Opportunity

The Hamilton/Burlington SPCA is seeking dedicated and dynamic leaders to join our Board of Directors. As a member of the board, you will help guide the organization through an era of exciting growth and transformation - including the fundraising, and realization of Canada's first Animal Wellness Hub – a one-stop, affordable, all-inclusive, walk-in shelter, hospital and community space that will transform our existing campus.

We don't just need board members - we need visionaries who understand that calculated risks lead to extraordinary rewards. Our mission demands leaders who can see beyond today and help shape a more humane tomorrow for animals and people alike.

This is an opportunity to contribute your expertise, leadership, and compassion to an organization that makes a tangible difference every single day - for animals, families, and the community we share.
