We’re getting ready to launch a new mental health workshop for young people aged 11 and over in Manchester. These workshops will provide a safe, relaxed and non-judgemental space where young people can talk, listen, connect with others and learn about mental health.
Young people will be supported by trained facilitators in a safe and supportive environment.
All facilitators working with young people will be appropriately trained and Enhanced DBS checked. To support safe and meaningful group discussion, we will maintain a maximum ratio of 1 facilitator to 4 young people.
• Understanding emotions and mental health
• Managing stress, worry and difficult thoughts
• Building confidence and self-esteem
• Coping with loneliness and isolation
• Healthy relationships and communication
• Where to find support when things feel difficult
This form must be completed by a responsible adult on behalf of the young person.
The sessions are facilitated by Amine, a Children and Young People’s (CYP) Residential Support Worker with professional experience supporting young people in an Ofsted-registered children’s home.
Amine has training in:
• Adult and Child Safeguarding
• Mental Health, Adult and Paediatric First Aid
• Self-Harm Awareness
• Trauma-Informed Practice
• PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy)
He also brings lived experience of overcoming personal adversity, which informs his compassionate and relatable approach to supporting young people.
Young people must be aged 11 or over.
You only need to share what you feel comfortable sharing. This could include accessibility needs, communication needs, or anything else that may help us make the workshop safe, comfortable and accessible.
