(song)writing lessons with adjenai

Hi, if you're reading this, you're curious about songwriting lessons. I've worked with songwriters at all levels and would be excited to learn more about you to see if we would be a good student/teacher fit.

A bit about me: My name is Adjenai (pronounced ah-jen-ay). I've been a songwriter for many years. I studied music composition in college, where I was a songwriting TA and department tutor. I write, produce, and perform my own songs. I also frequently co-write and collaborate with other wonderful musicians. I work in LogicPro and a bit in ProTools. I play guitar and piano. I've been a Hedgebrook Writer-in-Residence, working on songwriting in community with other esteemed writers, I was a YoungArts winner in Voice and Songwriting, and I've worked in the music education space on and off since about 2016.
A bit about our lessons: I prefer lessons to be driven by your goals and interests, leading with curiosity and expanding your tools for creative expression. If you do well with structure and prompts, I have plenty. If you prefer flexibility, we can shape lessons around what feels most expansive for your creative practice. Lessons are 100% virtual (via Zoom) and can be weekly, monthly, or sporadic (sometimes it's just nice to workshop a song with someone).
The details: Each session is $90 for a 1-hour session, paid via Zelle or Venmo in advance. (I don't have sliding scale pricing available at the moment.) If you need to cancel a scheduled session, 24 hours' notice is required to reschedule. If I ever need to cancel, I will hold myself to the same 24-hour schedule. You'll get all these details in an email if we move forward with lessons, but I like to be upfront about everything before you submit the info below.
If you have any questions, there's a box to submit them at the bottom of this form. Talk soon!

Lessons are focused on songwriting craft, not production or playing instruments, however, it's helpful for me to know what your workflow looks like right now.
