Youth Diplomacy Network: International Representatives | April Application

International Representatives

International Representatives serve as YDN’s ambassadors in their respective countries or regions. They contribute localized perspectives, engage in content creation, and represent YDN at local or online events.

Why Become an International Representative?:

- Be the designated voice of your country in a global youth community

- Share your unique perspective and inform others on relevant social, cultural and political issues that matter to you

- Connect with fellow youth from around the world and learn from different cultures

- Show national pride in where you come from while discovering new viewpoints and broadening your own

- Build confidence, diplomacy skills and your international network to better prepare you for the future

- Help make diplomacy and global discussions more accessible, approachable and less intimidating for young people

What You’ll Do:

- Represent your country within YDN and take part in discussions, events and projects

- Write articles, briefs or statements (at least one per month) about topics connected to your country or region that will get published on the YDN Substack account

- Holistically present serious global issues in a way that lowers the barrier for young people to engage with diplomacy

- Work with other representatives on cross-country ideas, collaborations or initiatives

- Stay active in the team and contribute to a positive, collaborative environment

What We’re Looking For:

- Someone who enjoys writing, sharing ideas or speaking up about important topics

- Eagerness to understand global issues, diplomacy or international relations/affairs

- Someone who is open-minded, respectful and curious about contrasting perspectives from their own

- Willingness to take initiative and communicate any potential issues or ideas

Someone who is reliable and able to contribute regularly

Important Note:
Individuals in all roles at the YDN are expected to actively participate in team meetings and organizational activities and communicate clearly and respectfully with team members. Individuals are also expected to uphold integrity, transparency, honesty, and professionalism in all YDN-related work, while supporting the growth and mission of the organization by contributing ideas and solutions.
All key roles require regular attendance at scheduled online meetings, timely completion of assigned tasks, and consistent engagement with the organization’s initiatives and communications channels. Individuals should be able to dedicate a reasonable number of hours per week to their role, depending on responsibilities.
Please note that all roles at YDN are voluntary and unpaid. The International Representative position will last for two months, with the possibility of extension at YDN’s discretion.
