Optimist Con is a FREE comic convention and community resource fair boasting the Chicago's only All-student Artist Alley. The event will take place on July 18th at Columbia College Chicago from 11am-5pm. Our Artist Alley represents the work of over 100 students that participated in Optimist Comics classes during the 25/26 school year. Students will have the opportunity to learn about creative art careers, try their hand a digital art, explore great youth programs that offer exposure to different artistic disciplines and more.
Activities include Panels featuring students as well as industry professionals, a live DJ, hands-on art workshops, a video game center, a cosplay competition, and an Anime Lounge.
We're looking for engaging workshops that benefit and inspire artists of all ages and skill levels. Examples include but are not limited to storytelling, visual art, character design, cosplay, and publishing. Fill out the form below to propose a workshop! All selected teaching artists will receive a $100 stipend for their services.
