We're looking for exceptional engineers and designers. We need to build a living knowledge graph of American government from thousands of data streams and then design entirely new interfaces for governing in the age of AI. The ideal candidate feels some personal responsibility in preserving the flame of self-governing civilization and should be energized by work worthy of historical note. They should have unusually high standards for excellence in their craft and want broad ownership in shaping the product, architecture, and culture of the team. They should also be excited to help build a new kind of organization made possible by AI.
What we do
Republic is building Palantir for the People - a unified political intelligence platform monitoring every government in America, starting with major cities. We believe AI will make government radically observable and that agents will become powerful political actors. Civilization does not yet have the software infrastructure for that world, so our mission is to create it. We are building a trustworthy intelligence layer through which citizens and organizations use AI agents to track, understand, and interact with government. We have already created the first complete data model of the San Francisco government and are using it to power a new generation of political intelligence products. Republic is a public benefit company backed by Verdict Capital, with angels from leading companies like OpenAI.
Founder: I’m Michael Adams - an engineer who left the space industry to study government. I turned what I learned into the best civics education program in San Francisco, and then built the first complete data model of the SF government. My work was licensed by a leading news publisher and led to my appointment by the Mayor to a commission overseeing the city’s public-data laws. I’ve begun expanding this work beyond San Francisco with the recent viral launch of the US Gov Graph.
