Coding Kinetics is expanding workshops with the Chicago Public Library! We are retaining independent Technical Assistants (TAs) to provide in-person troubleshooting and support for a repeat HTML/CSS workshop series at various branches around the city.
(Note: This is an independent contractor position; selected partners must submit an IRS Form W-9 before payment. No taxes will be withheld; contractors are responsible for their own local, state, and federal tax obligations.)
The Role & Deliverables
* Environment Setup: Assist coding beginners with their local development setup, GitHub initialization, and file system navigation (macOS, Windows).
* In-Person Troubleshooting: Unblock attendees during labs by diagnosing syntax errors and structural bugs in their code.
* Project Tracking: Collect completed project links and profiles from attendees at the conclusion of the session.
* Session Support: Coordinate with the physical venue staff regarding room setup and ensure participants can seamlessly follow the remote instructional feed. Take a headcount and capture media (photos) for project reporting.
Compensation
$75 flat engagement fee per 2-hour session workshop.
Requirements
* High level of professional reliability and punctuality to align with library venue bookings.
* Demonstrated proficiency in HTML + CSS troubleshooting. Candidates must possess these technical skills prior to engagement; a brief orientation framework on the specific workshop curriculum layout will be provided to selected partners.
* Excellent communication skills when translating technical solutions to non-technical users.
