The Pines Wind Farm is a proposed wind farm project located in the Oberon and Bathurst LGAs. The project site is over 15km south of Oberon.
As part of the project, TagEnergy has committed to a $5million Legacy Project Fund, that would see a major community project, or projects, delivered in the region.
To determine which projects will be progressed under the Legacy Project Fund, we intend to establish a Legacy Project Committee made up of community representatives from the Oberon and Bathurst LGA’s.
Glen Stewart, President of the Oberon Show Committee and Treasurer of Oberon Rotary, has been appointed to coordinate this committee. We are now seeking expressions of interest from community members to participate in the Legacy Project Committee, commencing in 2026.
1. Discuss and advise on the Terms of Reference for the Legacy Project Fund. The terms of reference will determine how projects are assessed for suitability and how the committee work together to make decisions.
2. Review submissions and advise on a project, or projects, that would enhance the communities of Black Springs, Burraga, Oberon, and Trunkey Creek. This could be one large project, or several smaller projects as determined by the reference group.
3. Determine which projects would be sustainable over the long term, benefit communities most impacted by the wind farm, and have significant positive impact on the greater region.
