Aprendizes Wait Until Later Pledge

Please fill out one per child. Parents/guardians can sign together or separately.

We, the undersigned guardians, acknowledge the impact of early technology use on childhood development. To protect our children’s well-being and foster a focused learning environment, we commit to the following:

Wait Until 14: We pledge to delay providing a personal smartphone to our child until at least the age of 14.

Wait Until 16: We pledge to delay access to social media platforms until at least the age of 16.

Device Transition: If our child already possesses a smartphone, we commit to actively curating and restricting apps to essential functions only, with the ultimate goal of phasing out the device entirely to align with this community pledge.

We agree to support one another in these boundaries to reduce social pressure within the classroom.

If/when your class crosses the threshold of 8 children signed up, you'll be emailed with the list of guardians who also signed up from your class. If more guardians sign up later, they'll be added to the list.

Your response will be kept private in a centralized spreadsheet, managed by limited members of the Aprendizes Digital Wellbeing Parents Committee. Your email will be visible to other signers from the class, when notifying you've reached critical mass. It will never be used for any purpose outside of this pledge.
