Mission
We are scaling our manufacturing capability from a first production setup towards Robofactory, our fully automated, large-scale factory. As Lead Manufacturing Systems, you drive the technical development of our manufacturing systems: you turn the company's goals into a concrete technical program, and own it end to end, architecture, team, suppliers and delivery. A role for a strong systems engineer ready to take the next step.
What you will do
• Translate company objectives into a structured technical program: architecture, scope, roadmap, milestones and budget; break it into well-defined work packages, prioritize, track, deliver
• Own the system architecture of our production lines, mechanical, robotics, controls and their integration; set the technical standards (requirements management, design reviews, documentation, safety & CE compliance, commissioning and acceptance)
• Lead and grow the Manufacturing Systems team (starting team: Senior Mechanical Design & Simulation Engineer, Robotics & Controls Engineer, Maintenance & Mechatronics Technician); coach, set priorities, build a culture of ownership and technical excellence
• Source, qualify and manage suppliers, machine builders and integrators: specifications and statements of work, scope negotiation, make-vs-buy, design reviews, FAT/SAT, installation and ramp-up on site
• Stay hands-on: feasibility studies, concept design, risk analysis, troubleshooting during commissioning and ramp-up; work closely with Production on throughput, quality and uptime
Who you are
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Dipl.-Ing. / M.Sc. or equivalent)
• 10+ years in machine / special-purpose equipment development, automation or manufacturing systems
• Proven systems engineering skills: you can hold the whole system in your head, mechanics, robotics, controls, process, and structure it into requirements, interfaces and work packages
• Experience leading engineering teams, and a strong track record with suppliers and integrators (sourcing, specification, negotiation, acceptance)
• Pragmatic, structured, delivery-focused, resilient, at ease in a high-intensity scale-up where the program is defined as it is built
• English required; German and/or French a strong plus
Why LEKO
To meet humanity's housing needs, the world will have to build, every month for the next fifty years, the equivalent of the surface of New York, while radically decarbonizing buildings and adapting them to a changing climate. It is one of the great industrial equations of the century: build much more, with much less. Less carbon. Less material. Less time. It demands that we reinvent the way we build.
At LEKO Labs, that is what we do. We develop a new generation of building systems made of bio-based materials, digitally designed and manufactured by robots. They replace up to 75% of concrete, use up to 60% less wood than traditional mass-timber solutions, store carbon, and directly integrate the building's insulation.
Produced off-site in Luxembourg, our systems arrive on site ready to assemble. We are turning construction from a site-based process into an industrial one, without standardizing architecture.
Already deployed in Luxembourg, Belgium and France, LEKO is now entering its acceleration phase.
