TCR Photojournalism Contest

In our tradition of supporting grassroots journalism, The Chicago Reporter’s Photojournalism Contest is an opportunity to salute and recognize photojournalists whose work advances social justice and community-centered storytelling. This contest invites photographers to submit images that document, challenge, and illuminate the lived experiences of our communities, with a focus on equity, resilience, and impact.

Selected submissions will be showcased during a public recognition event on May 14, 2026, from 6:00–8:00 PM at Parkway Social Chicago, where photographers, journalists, community leaders, and supporters will gather to celebrate the power of visual storytelling. Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of judges, and selected works may be featured across The Chicago Reporter’s digital platforms.
