1️⃣ floorwork for intermediate & advanced dancers at Plazm Platform
🕐 Sat & Sun, Aug 22-23 / 18:00-20:00
Turn, Twist, Slide & Spin / A Continuous Body Practice

Over these two days, we'll explore two connected yet distinct directions: Flow Movement and Footwork Exploration. Flow Movement invites the body to swim, slide, and spiral through the floor, building fluid transitions and allowing one action to naturally evolve into the next. Footwork Exploration approaches footwork as a tool for coordination, rhythm, speed, and adaptability. Through technical drills, movement phrases, and layered tasks, we'll challenge familiar patterns while discovering new relationships between the upper and lower body. Throughout the workshop, these two approaches constantly overlap. Different dynamics, qualities, and ways of moving come together, expanding physical possibilities and opening new pathways through the body. The practice balances technical precision with freedom of choice, encouraging curiosity, presence, and personal interpretation.

This improvisation class explores movement through dialogue, observation, and shared physical research. Working with each other, we'll exchange, combine, deconstruct, and transform each other's movement patterns, allowing individual vocabularies to overlap and evolve into new material.

While our movement vocabulary will continuously emerge through exchange, our individual focus will remain on the arms and the many possibilities they offer. We'll investigate different pathways, qualities, shapes, and possibilities generated through the hands and arms, using them as a starting point for transitions, spatial levels, and full-body movement.

👯‍♀️ up to 20 people
💰60 GEL / 50 GEL for Improlab students
