Video Submission – Fresh Friday Festival

All videos submitted to Fresh Friday must be unreleased. If accepted, they must then be scheduled to premiere on that Friday at the confirmed time, so they are watched for the first time during the festival. Previously released videos will not be accepted.

To be considered for the current week, unreleased videos must be submitted by Wednesday at 18:00 (ET). You’re welcome to submit for a future Friday; a monthly calendar is available for reference. If the current week’s playlist is already full, we may reach out with alternative premiere slots. In that case, it’s up to you whether you wish to postpone your premiere.

Before submitting, please review the Submission Rules & Guidelines and the Content & Framing Guidelines below, and complete the form accurately to the best of your judgement.

Content & Framing Guidelines

We’re not prudes – and we’re not here to police art. Sex, romance, sensuality, horror, gore, and violence can all belong in meaningful work.

We’re curating a space that does not reward objectification, exploitation, hate, or harm. If your work relies on degradation, dehumanisation, or hate as the appeal, it’s not a fit here.

We do not accept content that promotes or glamorises racism, antisemitism, Islamophobia, homophobia, transphobia, misogyny, xenophobia, ableism, or other exclusionary ideologies – including slurs, dehumanisation, or propaganda framing.

If your work includes these themes for artistic reasons – such as satire, critique, historical portrayal, or documentary context – it must be clearly framed as critique and supported with context in your submission.

We assess intent through framing. If a piece reads as endorsement, it will be declined.

Likely acceptable

– Rom-com level sexuality, flirting, implied sex – Sensual styling (e.g. side-boob, shower scenes) without porn framing – Consensual sexual energy that supports character, mood, or story – Comedic pushback (e.g. harmful behaviour that is clearly condemned) – Horror or violence that serves tension, narrative, or satire

Not acceptable
– Pornified scenes, soft-porn framing, or fetish content as the point – Sexual violence played for thrills, humiliation, or titillation – Misogynistic framing (pimping, “hoes,” “sluts,” coercion, exploitation presented as cool or aspirational) – Graphic sexual acts used primarily as spectacle or entertainment – Racism, hate, or dehumanisation presented as cool, funny, sexy, or aspirational – including “ironic” hate, dog whistles, or propaganda framing – Harassment or targeted abuse of protected groups – Any sexual content involving minors – including sexualised depictions, “barely legal” framing, age-play, or anything implying minors in a sexual context (automatic rejection) – Non-consensual sexual content – including coercion, threats, intoxication, or abuse of power framed as sexy

Final decisions are at curator discretion. We may request edits or decline a submission.
