LJ Movers and Shakers 2027

The editors of Library Journal need your help in identifying emerging talents in the library world—both great leaders and behind-the-scenes contributors who are providing inspiration and model programs for others. Our 26th annual round of Movers & Shakers, sponsored by Amazon, will profile up-and-coming individuals from around the world who are innovative, creative, and making a difference fighting against censorship, and helping improve their workplace. From librarians and non-degreed library workers to publishers, vendors, coders, entrepreneurs, reviewers, and others who impact the library field—Movers & Shakers 2027 will celebrate those people who are moving all types of libraries ahead!
Movers & Shakers sponsor Amazon will also be funding additional awards for two Movers: the Innovator in Access Award recognizes a librarian who expands physical book access for underserved or rural communities, and will provide a $5,000 microgrant to expand or replicate their work; and the Next Gen Librarian Award, which recognizes an emerging leader who is driving reading engagement and circulation growth through innovative programming and will provide a $5,000 grant for professional development or training.
