"RIVER JAM" Basel 3-5 July 2026

Welcome to the "River Jam" in Basel, a 3-day celebration of contact improvisation, connection and flow next to the river!

Dive into a summer immersion where contact unfolds following gravity and lightness, rolling, drifting, flying and resting.

Our days move between silent morning jams and evening jams with live music, held by afternoon classes and shared meals.

Just a two-minute walk away, the river becomes part of the rhythm and offers another way to soften, and refresh.

The jam is at the center of our journey: a living, evolving space of emergence, where we meet, move, and share the exquisite pleasure of co-creation.

Three days to unwind movement, cultivating presence, vitality, response-ability, and curiosity.

Antoine Ragot will be teaching 2 afternoon classes. He draws inspiration from the Axis Syllabus, of which he is a certifying teacher, and from his lifelong practice of Contact Improvisation. With nearly two decades of experience, Antoine is known as an insightful and approachable pedagogue, a passionate researcher, and an inspired dance-maker.
* CDP "Contemplative Dance Practice" (opening the morning sessions)
was developed by Barbara Dilley who integrated dance and Buddhism. The practice is not led, except for the ringing of the bells and has no music. We take inspiration from CDP and structure it as followed:
-10 min meditation
-10 min solo practice
-open space
-There will be a gong to indicate the beginning and ending of each of the sections. During the  open space the gong can be used by everyone as a invitation to clear the space, drop whatever you are doing, move to the sides and have a new beginning.
