Birth Autonomy Australia is gathering consumer perspectives on the impact of professional indemnity insurance (PII) requirements for privately practising midwives attending homebirths.
The Australian Government has invited BAA to provide further information about the consumer perspectives being raised in relation to these arrangements.
This survey is intended to help BAA understand whether women are already experiencing or anticipate experiencing, barriers to accessing privately attended homebirth.
Responses may be used in de-identified form in advocacy, submissions, correspondence with government and public reporting.
