Trades to Self Employment Week Program 2026 Application Form

You know how to do the work. Now, what would it take to build a business around it?

A 5-day, hands-on business intensive for tradespeople who are thinking about starting their own business, taking on independent work, or turning an existing side hustle into something more.

Trades to Self-Employment is a partnership between Yukonstruct and Yukon Women in Technology and Trades (YWITT), bringing together practical business training with a supportive, community-focused approach to help tradespeople build the skills, confidence and connections to take the next step toward self-employment.

We fully understand that your time matters. Participants will receive an honorarium for the week to help replace income they would otherwise lose by stepping away from paid work.

You don't need to have a business plan or a registered business to apply. Whether you're just exploring the idea of working for yourself, already taking on occasional jobs, this program is designed to meet you where you're at.

Program Start: December 7th
Application Extended: Now Due October 12, 2026

This program is open to people of all genders, but will prioritize spots for women and gender diverse folks.
