Forrest Darlings CWA Stitch for Frocktober

The Forrest Darlings CWA invites sewists of all levels to take part in a creative fundraising event for Frocktober, raising funds for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.

KEY DATES (Judging and Pickup Subject to Change)

Registration Open: Monday 9 March 2026

Registration close: Saturday 26 September 2026

Judging: Saturday 10 October (afternoon)

Pickup: Sunday 11 October


FEES and PRIZES

$10 per entry, 100% donated to OCRF

Prizes for 1st & 2nd place in each category

Plus: A Branch Choice Award for each category

Which Category are you entering?

Stitch a Frock from Scratch: You're starting with fabric. Patterns or not, it's up to you.
Upcycle a Frock: You're starting from something existing (Shirt, dress, pants...the point is its existing).
Video (Remote Entry): If you can't get the frock to Darlington, Perth, Western Australia, we are accepting video entries. Show us what the frock looks like, all the details you are especially proud of. Suggested length: less than 5 minutes.
For all Entries, please include a blurb to describe your creation. Information like if you used a particular technique is super interesting to people viewing your work!

Additional Terms and Conditions

Entry fee: $10 per entry. All proceeds from the entry fees are fully donated to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF).

This competition is one of skill and judge’s perception of thus. All Judge's decisions are made in good faith and are final. Entries should be frocks, or frock adjacent, we're not picky.

Entries must be made in 2026, not before.

Entrants are responsible for garment drop-off and pickup, or postage.

Posted entries will be presented on a hanger (hanger can be provided if required). One garment can only be entered into one category, please. Multiple entries are welcome, please note the fee applies per entry.

Entrants are responsible for presentation of garments.

All judging and voting are anonymous.

Forrest Darlings Branch Members who enter a category are ineligible to win or vote in the Branch Choice Award for that category.
