Thank you for your interest in participating in ARS GLORIA, a statewide initiative celebrating Tennessee visual artists.

Tennessee’s visual artists contribute immeasurably to the identity and cultural life of our communities. Through ARS GLORIA, the Tennessee Press Association and Tennessee Art League are working together to introduce more of these artists—and their stories—to audiences across the state.

This questionnaire will help us confirm your eligibility for the 2026–27 Main Competition and learn more about you and your artistic practice. Please answer all applicable questions completely and accurately. We recommend that you set aside approximately 15 minutes of your time to fill out the questionnaire completely.

Submission of this questionnaire does not guarantee acceptance into the competition. Artist eligibility remains subject to the ARS GLORIA Official Rules and final review by ARS GLORIA.

1) Verification of Legal Residency and Age: This competition is only open to legal U.S. residents who are 18 years of age or older. By checking the box below, you certify that you are a legal U.S. resident who is at least 18 years of age.

13) Primary-Fame Review: Applicants whose substantial public recognition was established primarily outside the visual arts may receive additional eligibility review. This review considers the applicant’s visual-art practice and helps preserve the purpose and competitive integrity of ARS GLORIA. Additional review does not constitute automatic disqualification.

14) Disclosure of Student Status: Are you currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a college, university, or similar postsecondary institution? Please note that students are encouraged to apply for the forthcoming student competition.

15) Originality and Authorship: ARS GLORIA is intended to celebrate human-first creativity, artistic authorship, and individual artistic practice. Is the artwork you submit for consideration primarily created through your own artistic process, authorship, and creative direction?

17) Authorship, Rights, and Accuracy: By submitting this questionnaire, I represent that the information I have provided is truthful and complete to the best of my knowledge. I further confirm that any artwork I submit to the competition represents my own artistic practice, and that I have the legal right to submit the work for consideration. I understand that ARS GLORIA may request additional information or documentation to verify eligibility, authorship, residency, Tennessee connection, and/or compliance with any of the competition's rules or requirements.

18) Official Rules Acknowledgement: I understand that participation in ARS GLORIA is subject to the competition’s Official Rules and applicable policies. If approved to participate, I agree to review and comply with those rules. Please note: Approved artists will receive a copy of the ARS GLORIA Official Rules. Participation in the competition is contingent upon compliance with those rules and any applicable competition policies.

19) Publicity and Promotional Use: I understand that, if approved to participate in ARS GLORIA, my name, likeness, biography, submitted artwork images, and related materials may be used by ARS GLORIA, the Tennessee Art League, the Tennessee Press Association, and participating media or promotional partners for purposes related to the competition, its coverage, promotion, and documentation, subject to the Official Rules.

20) Media Materials Requirement: I understand that, if approved to participate, I may be required to provide high-resolution, media-ready images of my artwork and at least one suitable photograph of myself for editorial, promotional, and competition-related use. I acknowledge that failure to provide usable materials within requested deadlines may affect ARS GLORIA’s ability to feature or promote my participation.

21) Right to Refuse, Suspend, or Remove Participants: ARS GLORIA reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to deny, suspend, or revoke an artist's eligibility or participation if it determines that continued participation would be inconsistent with the competition's rules, eligibility requirements, standards of conduct, or the integrity, reputation, or fair administration of the program.

Artists may be denied participation or disqualified for reasons including, but not limited to: - Providing materially false, incomplete, or misleading information
- Failing to verify residency, Tennessee connection, or other eligibility requirements when reasonably requested
- Submitting artwork that does not comply with ARS GLORIA eligibility, originality, authorship, or artificial intelligence policies
- Attempting to improperly manipulate nominations, voting, judging, or other competition processes
- Harassing, threatening, or engaging in abusive conduct toward participating artists, judges, staff, volunteers, sponsors, partners, or other individuals involved with ARS GLORIA
- Engaging in conduct that materially compromises the integrity, reputation, safety, or fair administration of ARS GLORIA, the Tennessee Art League, or the Tennessee Press Association
- Violating the ARS GLORIA Official Rules or other applicable competition policies
ARS GLORIA reserves the right to interpret and apply its Official Rules and eligibility standards and to resolve questions or disputes arising from the competition.

Decisions regarding artist eligibility and participation are final.

22) Applicant Confirmation: By submitting this questionnaire, I confirm that: I meet the ARS GLORIA residency and/or Tennessee connection requirements. I am at least 18 years of age. I am a legal resident of the United States. Any artwork I submit represents my own artistic practice and creative authorship. I have the right to submit the artwork I provide for consideration. My submitted artwork complies with applicable ARS GLORIA eligibility requirements and policies. I understand that ARS GLORIA may request additional information when necessary to verify eligibility. The information provided in this questionnaire is accurate and complete to the best of my knowledge.
