Are you mostly using AI for quick one-off tasks, exploring,

building, or true collaboration?

This short quiz helps you see whether you’re in Transaction, Curious, Builder or Collaboration Mode – and gives one concrete suggestion to move up a level.

1. When I open an AI chat, I usually:

Fire off a quick command like “write this email” or “summarise this”

Try a few different prompts to see what it can do

Outline a task and ask it to help me build or improve something specific

Set context, goals and constraints so we can work on a project together

2. When the answer isn't quite right, I tend to:

Copy the bits I like and fix the rest myself

Hit “try again” or tweak the wording a bit

Give targeted feedback (“this part is good, improve that section”)

Step back with the agent to rethink the approach or structure together

3. How often do you work with the same agent/chat over multiple days on the same project?

Almost never – each chat is a fresh one-off

Occasionally, if I remember where the thread is

Quite often – I keep coming back to the same conversation

Regularly – I have ongoing “project spaces” with my agent

4. When you think about AI in your work, you mainly see it as:

A faster way to do routine tasks

A toolbox to experiment with

A co-writer or co-designer to build things with

A teammate you can rely on within clear boundaries

5. How do you usually brief your agent?

Short and blunt: “Write X”, “Summarise Y”

Short at first, then longer if it doesn’t work

Detailed, with examples and structure

Detailed, with context, constraints, and what success looks like

6. How do you feel when AI is involved in an important piece of work?

Mostly nervous – I double-check everything manually

Curious but cautious – it still feels like an experiment

Fairly confident – I know how to guide and correct it

Confident and structured – we have a way of working that keeps it safe

7. Do you have any kind of working "relationship" or rituals with your agent?

No – it’s just a box I type into when I remember

Not yet, but I like the idea of using it more regularly

A bit – I sometimes ask it to help plan or review my week

Yes – we have regular patterns (check-ins, summaries, project spaces) and it feels like a real collaborator
