Energy Research Hackathon 2026

Thank you for your interest in participating in the Energy Research Hackathon 2026, delivered in partnership with Energyz Black, UKERC, SuperAIRE, EDRC, and Supergen Energy Networks.

This interactive research sprint will bring together researchers from across engineering, social science, data science, economics, policy and related disciplines to collaborate on real-world energy system challenges using shared datasets.

Venue: Composers Suite, Edgbaston Park Hotel & Conference Centre, Birmingham

Participant capacity: 40

Participants will work in interdisciplinary teams to explore one of three challenge areas:

Energy Poverty, Affordability & System Equity Future Electricity Systems, Flexibility & Market Design Heat, Buildings & Place-Based Decarbonisation
